FAQs

  • The 5 Gallon Challenge for Hunger is a high-impact, low-cost food drive that challenges local businesses and members of the community to use a 5 gallon bucket as a vessel for donations. The challenge itself is simple: take a 5 gallon bucket (or any container), fill it up with food, and drop it off at any participating business or join us the day of our annual food drive, the first Saturday in November.

  • Reach out to your school, employer, or organization and let them know you want to host a donation spot! We can provide buckets and flyers as well as any information you’ll need. If you’d like to help us directly, please reach out to us through our contact page and we’ll be happy to discuss how we can work together to defeat food insecurity in Plymouth, Massachusetts and beyond!

  • Our inaugural food drive in 2024 netted over 9,000lbs of food, water, and supplies, ranging from canned some to women’s health products. This concept filled the Plymouth Area Coalition for the Homeless Food Bank from the end of November 2024 through January 2025.

It’s estimated that every bucket filled can feed a family of four anywhere from a week to a month, depending on the contents. That means local families had relief through the holiday season, traditionally one of the most challenging seasons of the year.

  • Challenge accepted! Reach out to us directly through our contact page. We’d love to help you get started.
